Why “thedjeek” ?
Back in the late 90s, when Java was only used by a few and we were working with the Eclipse’s ancestor (IBM VisualAge), we used to attend a fabulous conference at Keystone Resort in Colorado (previously named ColoradOS/2!). This was a very intense but relaxed conference and many informal technical discussions were organized at nights; a bulletin board was announcing those meetings, and one of those nights, a “geek meeting” was organized. I was young and innocent at the time and asked my good friend George DiCandio what a “djeek” was .. He almost died laughing that day. God knows why I pronounced it this way, but since that day, I have been “the djeek” (right George?)
